The agent’s job is only to collect booking details in conversation and call the workflow as a tool; the workflow then checks conflicts, assigns the first available court, handles create/update/cancel cases, and syncs bookings to Google Sheets, while the builder manually iterated on the design after the AI-heavy version hallucinated.

It let customers type requests like booking a slot and receive a confirmed booking ID, and the author says separating chat from booking logic made it more reliable and easier to debug. It still looked complex enough that the author said they plan to split create, update, and cancel into separate workflows.
